Warehouses and industrial facilities present fire protection challenges that most standard commercial buildings do not. High-piled storage, flammable materials, large open floor areas, and industrial process equipment create fire loads and detection challenges that require purpose-built systems designed for the specific hazards present.
In Miami-Dade and Broward County, warehouses and industrial sites must maintain fire sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and in many cases special hazard suppression systems for areas involving flammable liquids, paint spray operations, or chemical processing. AHJ inspectors actively enforce these requirements, and citations in industrial occupancies often carry significant fines.
Firemax Fire Protection has been serving South Florida warehouses and industrial facilities since 1998. As a licensed fire protection company with nearly three decades of experience, we understand the NFPA standards, local AHJ requirements, and operational constraints that warehouse managers and facility directors navigate every day.

What Warehouses & Industrial Facilities Must Maintain
Warehouses and industrial sites in Miami-Dade and Broward face fire code requirements from local AHJs, insurance carriers, and in many cases state and federal OSHA. All systems must be inspected on schedule with current documentation available at all times.
Industrial occupancy citations carry higher fines than standard commercial violations in many Florida jurisdictions. We track every inspection due date and keep your systems and documentation current before any agency asks for them.

Warehouse & Industrial Fire Protection FAQs
NFPA 25 requires control valve inspections weekly or monthly, annual flow tests and full ITM documentation, and a five-year internal obstruction investigation. High-piled storage facilities must also confirm sprinkler coverage matches their current storage layout. Florida AHJ inspectors check for current ITM records and cite facilities that are behind on any component of the inspection schedule.
In many cases, yes. NFPA 13 and local fire codes require in-rack sprinkler protection for high-piled storage above certain heights, depending on the commodity class and storage configuration. When storage racks are added, reconfigured, or heights are changed, the sprinkler system design must be re-evaluated. We assess your storage configuration and advise on what is required.
Paint spray booths require a UL-listed dry chemical suppression system engineered specifically for the booth size and spray operation under NFPA 17. These systems must be inspected every six months by a licensed contractor. A standard fire extinguisher is not an adequate substitute for a fixed suppression system in a spray booth.
Yes. We coordinate inspection and service schedules around your operational hours. For facilities that cannot shut down specific areas during business hours, we schedule work during shift changes, weekends, or planned maintenance windows. Contact us to discuss your scheduling requirements.
Most commercial property insurers require current ITM reports for fire sprinkler systems, current inspection certifications for portable extinguishers, and documentation of any special hazard suppression systems. We provide written reports after every service visit formatted to satisfy insurance carrier documentation requirements.
